Atlanta Organization Places Second in Black Enterprise Competition


(BlackNews.com) June 4, 2009 – MySavvySeniors won second place in the Elevator Pitch Competition hosted during the annual Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs Competition. Four finalists were chosen to pitch their existing or proposed business ideas to a panel of leading business executives. The judges' criteria included clarity/vision of the company, salesmanship, business viability, use of time, and response from the audience. The competition was moderated by Alan Hughes, Editorial Director -- News/Business for Black Enterprise Magazine.


Founded by Cecilia Belton, MySavvySeniors' mission is to aid the elderly in conquering their technophobia. The company provides mobile computer training classes to senior centers and nursing homes. In-home training is also provided for seniors preferring to learn in the comfort of their own home. MySavvySeniors also hosts a senior networking site allowing for seniors to connect with one another and recently launched their Want-A-Ride program providing transportation services to seniors.

General Motors and ExxonMobil sponsored the annual Black Enterprise event held this year in Detroit, Michigan from May 17-20, 2009.
