Black Health Magazine Launches a "$1.00 Subscription Campaign" in Conjunction with "Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day"

Black Health Magazine(BlackNews) March 10, 2009 – Black Health Magazine has announced that it will offer a $1.00 subscription campaign starting Monday, March 9, 2009 and ending on Monday, April 9, 2009. The $1.00 subscription campaign allows consumers to take advantage of health information that can be archived for months and even years ahead. "We are experiencing difficult economic times in this country, and our purchasing power has declined, but our message of health and prevention must remain a priority. Therefore, we are committed to keeping our message affordable to everyone," said Marcus Oaks, Publisher and CEO. The announcement was heard live today before a national radio audience on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.

Tom Joyner and his wife Donna Richardson Joyner appear on the cover of the April 2009 issue of Black Health Magazine on newsstands March 17, 2009. The issue features information on the "Take a Loved One to the Doctor Day" Initiative. "We don't like to go to the doctor, particularly black men, so this initiative is really a 'call to action' for black women to take their black men to the doctor!" said Joyner in a recent interview with Shani K. Collins, Senior Editor of Black Health.

Additionally, Black Health Magazine and Reach Media Inc. have forged a partnership to promote health awareness within the African American community. Black Health will provide health related content on a regular basis to BlackAmericaWeb.com, a subsidiary of Reach Media Inc. "I have always been an avid viewer of BlackAmericaWeb.com and its content. For years, it has been one of the most relevant media outlets within the African-American community, and we are proud to have the opportunity to contribute to such an invaluable and informative site," said Oaks.

The April 2009 issue also features Celebrity Chef G. Garvin, articles on high blood pressure, allergies, diabetes, chronic back pain and a host of other health related topics, issues, and concerns that are unique to the African- American community.

April 2009 subscription costs are $1.00 plus shipping and can be purchased online at www.blackhealthmag.com
