T.I., Sean Garrett, Keshia Knight Pulliam & Many Others Notables Come Together For Single Parent Familes At Barnes & Noble(HipHopPress.com) March 12, 2009 – The official "Saving Our Daughters" From a Man's Point of View, brainchild was created by Founder and Executive Director, Curtis B., of It's Cool To Be Smart at a small gathering of single parent mothers and daughters at Radio One during the summer of 2008. That day consisted of a panel of T.I., Sean Garrett and Deon Grant from the Seattle Seahawks; where they discussed positive fatherhood from a man's perspective for African Men in front of single parent mothers and their daughters. "That's when "Saving Our Daughters" From a Man's Point of View was started and the vision was created to publish this type of book to empower our black families with letters from fathers to their daughters, but also our young black men on how to become real men in our families and communities" stated Publisher and Co-Author, Curtis B. It's now entering a year, since the first panel and on Saturday, March 7th, the "Saving Our Daughters" Book Series came alive in front of 200 families at the Barnes & Noble Book Store at Camp Creek in Atlanta Georgia, for the first official book signing. Special supporting celebrities joined featured book contributors, T.I., and Sean Garrett; which included Keshia Knight Pulliam of Madea Goes To Jail, Tyler Perry Producer Roger Bobb - who also brought his super star daughter, All My Children's ABC Actress, Denise Vasi, Rockmond Dunbar from the hit series "Soul Food" and "The Family That Preys", Lisa Wu Hartwell - from the Real House Wives of Atlanta, Bone Crusher, Moma Pain-T-Pain's mother and surprised guest Mrs. Xernona Clayton - Founder of the Trumpet Awards came in support. Craig Bell from CNN was also there to cover this magnificent event for these families as well. The book signing started off with an overwhelming poem from Russell Simon's Def Jam Poet, Georgia Me, which followed by T.I.; speaking a few encouraging words to the single parent families who had suffered from domestic violence or other horrific acts of violence.
