We will recognize sports leaders with a connection to the City of Atlanta. Some names you may be familiar with, some you may not. Join us as we honor:

  • Dikembe Mutombo
  • Jamal Lewis
  • Chico Renfro, Sr. (posthumously accepted by his son Chico Renfroe, Jr.)
  • William “Bill” Lucas (posthumously accepted by his daughter Wonya Lucas and his wife Rubye Lucas)
  • Brian Jordan, and more.
  • Kiplyn Primus, host of The Local Take on Jazz 91.9 WCLK will moderate a panel discussion with our honorees.

The Black Women Film Network (BWFN) is proud to announce the Black Women Film Summit, a two-day cultural celebration of black women in the arts and entertainment during Women’s History Month. Taking place March 9th and 10th, 2018 the Black Women Film Summit will feature a number of seminars and activities that will connect key industry players with aspiring entertainment professionals. Incorporating two signature BWFN events into one Summit weekend furthers the Network’s mission to preserve the voice of black women in the arts.

The hit stage play DEAR BLACK PEOPLE is returning to Atlanta, Ga. This project is a satire written and performed in Poetry verse that explores black culture and the stereotypes perpetuate. We will have 2 showing. 5pm and 8pm. Doors open 1 hour early
