John Marshall Jones brings his award winning film, The Last Revolutionary, to Atlanta’s Bronze Lens Film Festival

Globally recognized television, film and stage actor John Marshall Jones (Bosch, Shooter, In The Cut, Rectify) is bringing his award winning film, The Last Revolutionary, to Atlanta’s Bronze Lens Film Festival held at the Westin Peachtree Hotel in downtown Atlanta 8/23- 8/27 2017. The Last Revolutionary will screen on Saturday, August 26th, 11:45 am at the Westin. Jones, best known for his role on the global hit series Smart Guy, executive produced and is starring in this critically acclaimed feature film, penned by (and also starring) multiple award winning screen writer Levy Lee Simon, and currently burning up the film festival circuit across the U.S.

The Last Revolutionary follows two former Black Panthers, one who has become a modern day conservative suburbanite, while the other is still in the same apartment from 1972 wearing the same outfit, brandishing multiple weapons and calling his former “street warriors” to help him start the revolution all over again. The two come into conflict as they debate the Obama Backlash, the Tea Party, and the path forward for Black America in the age of Trump. The scintillating jazz soundtrack was composed by multiple Grammy award nominee, Guggenheim Fellow and Lady of Soul award winner, the late Geri Allen.

John Marshall Jones currently stars as ‘Special Agent Jay Griffin’ on Amazon’s hit police procedural series, “Bosch,” based on the bestselling books by Michael Connelly, opposite Titus Welliver and recently began production for a fourth season. Jones also recurs as ‘Sheriff Brown’ on the second season of the USA TV original drama series, “Shooter”, starring Ryan Phillipe and exec-produced by Mark Wahlberg, based on the bestseller “Time To Hunt” by Steven Hunter. Jones is also starring on the Bounce TV hit comedy “In The Cut”, executive produced by Bentley Kyle Evans and featuring Dorien Wilson and Kellita Smith.

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Jones received his BA in Theatre Arts from Northwestern University; after graduation, he moved to Chicago and began his career in entertainment with Second City Theatre, touring all over the United States and Canada. Best known for his role as ‘Floyd Henderson’, the loving father from the 90’s hit show “Smart Guy,” John Marshall Jones has worked with such stars as Oscar winners Sean Penn, Helen Hunt, Jamie Foxx, Forrest Whittaker, Robin Williams and Steve Martin. Jones graced our screens with other 5 television series, 20 feature films, has made over 200 television episodic appearances, and recently appeared on “Criminal Minds,” “Rectify,” “The Mentalist,” “Hart of Dixie,” “Battle Creek,” “Shameless,” “Glee,” “Pretty Little Liars,” “Bones,” “NCIS” and the upcoming feature films, RUST CREEK and PAINT IT BLACK.
