In an industry where key decisions are often held by male influencers, it was Devyne Johnson, an Atlanta based content creator who financed the project, hired key department heads and Devyne who directed the feature film, MOSAIC set to be released on a seven-city tour in select theaters this Fall.

MOSAIC, the first feature film by Johnson, a Charlotte, NC native, whose credits includes, writer, producer and director, depicts a film about a family unaware of quiet destructive patterns that put them on a collision course to deal with these issues. The story’s main character, Ruth Anderson, is an ambitious, divorced mother with misplaced priorities and shattered relationships with her immediate family. Hardly an uncommon concern for families, Johnson’s storytelling will shed light on themes relatable to all while offering moments of key reflection that presents healing and hope for families yearning for healthy functionality at its core.

In preparation of the film’s debut, Johnson and her team has launched the #IAmMOSAIC social media campaign with a call for submissions on 30-60 sec videos to tell your own “Mosaic” story, spotlighting people who helped, encouraged, supported or contributed to accomplishing one’s big dream. Johnson shares, “MOSAIC is a movie that shows true connection both in front of the camera and behind the lens. I’m excited about this piece of work; but, more importantly, I’m proud that I could inspire other dreamers to accomplish their respective goals as hired crew. No dream can be realized without the collective support of committed believers. MOSAIC wouldn’t be, without all the pieces of our crew. I am a MOSAIC of believers, of dreamers who do! These are the pieces that makes me who I am.” She continues, “This is my way to thank my support system and encourage others to thank theirs.”

In January 2016, Johnson and her production team was commissioned to create, produce and direct a short film, “What Kings are Made of” (http://www.artefaekts.com/#!wkamo/dvfwp)  for the TV series, “Live@9:30.” (http://www.liveat930.com/pages/the-show) The show is nationally broadcast by NPR & PBS. Her 3-minute segment, “What Kings are Made of” is a hybrid of live action and animation, featured in Episode 4. What Kings Are Made Of is slated to air nationally this fall and will coincide with MOSAIC’s release.

A graduate of Alabama State University, Johnson launched  Artefaekts Entertainment in 2010 as a full service production company that creates original content in the form of short films, animations, feature films and live entertainment. Devyne, whose background is in Costume Design is credited for working on films and television shows such as Atlanta (FX), Stranger Things (Netflix), Halt & Catch Fire (AMC) and the Ride Along franchise. She has worked under celebrated producers such as Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Shawn Levy, Will Packer, Rob Hardy, Kevin Hart and Ice Cube (just to name a few).

MOSAIC will kick off in Atlanta and will make stops in Charlotte, Raleigh, D.C., Nashville, Chicago and L.A.  To be apart of the national promotion for the film, please upload your 30-60 second video to Instagram, follow our page at @Artefaekts and use the hashtag #IAMMosaic or post to our Facebook Page, Artefaekts Entertainment.
